What is it like to work with Walden Homes? Let our customers tell you!
Changes to the front hall are noticeable as soon as you enter the house. The old powder room and front hall closet were repositioned, and new limestone floors installed. Wainscotting was removed, replaced by stained trim, giving a modern sensibility to the traditional home. The curved bay window of the reworked living room houses the piano.
What was a hectic, crowded room is now a quiet oasis for reading and enjoying a fire in the rebuilt hearth. Day-to-day living and entertaining have moved to the kitchen and family room. Katie wanted a large island and an eat-in table surrounded by full-height windows. The family room, open to the kitchen, shares a wall of glass windows and doors that look out onto a large patio at the rear. The kitchen cabinetry incorporates simple details, which are repeated in the entertainment unit in the family room.
The transparency, accountability and sense of collaboration was very appealing. Our project was well organized, any issues that came up were dealt with immediately, and we moved back into the house on schedule to the day. We had a terrific building experience with Walden.
